Jem and the Holograms were a fictional rock band created by Hasbro in the 1980s as part of an animated TV series and a line of fashion dolls. The show, "Jem and the Holograms," aired from 1985 to 1988.

The main character, Jerrica Benton, inherited a music company from her father. By using a holographic computer named Synergy, Jerrica could transform into Jem, the lead singer of the band. She formed the band with her sister Kimber and friends Aja and Shana, who became the other members of the Holograms.

The band's alter-egos had a rival group called The Misfits, led by Pizzazz, who constantly tried to sabotage Jem and the Holograms. The series focused on the band's adventures, music, and the drama that unfolded both on and off the stage.

The show was well-known for its vibrant animation, catchy music, and the positive messages it conveyed. It promoted themes of friendship, loyalty, and self-confidence, and it was popular among young audiences during its original run.
